TEETH
IN AN HOUR - NOBELGUIDE
Teeth
in an Hour™
The new
concept in Same Day Dental Implants
The new concept represents a
giant step forward in the development of dental implants protocols
that are easier and more patient friendly. Nobel Guides were
created through the scientific efforts of biomedical engineers
to assist reconstructive dentists in providing the best prediction
factor for implant success for practically all types of tooth
replacement needs.
The major benefit to the patient
is the incredible accuracy of implant placement compared to
"freehand" implant placement, which is often suitable
for a single implant with adjacent teeth available to aid
in the required positioning of the implant.
The freehand or non-guided surgical
method however becomes immediately unpredictable when there
is extensive bone loss or when there is more than one implant.
The Nobel Guide system was developed
in response to the need for the best accuracy possible. Computerized
analysis of digitized imagery led to a fabrication method
for creating implant drilling guides, thereby virtually removing
the concern of inacurate drilling.

A
unique planning and treatment solution
The
incredible precision of the computer guided surgery template
(NobelGuide) now allows a procedure called "Teeth in
an Hour™ . The Teeth in an Hour™procedure is exclusively for
patients with no teeth. The patient must be able to open his/her
mouth a certain amount, be healthy and have a certain amount
of bone. When these requirements are met, the patient may
select this amazing option.
Computerized
technology
The rapid development of computerized
tomography (CT) scan techniques with decreased radiation and
3D computerized imaging technology has made it possible to
fully visualize the placement of implants in a real 3D environment.
High
precision
The use of surgical templates
to place implants has been shown to provide added value and
surgical templates with high precision sleeves have optimized
prosthetic rehabilitation since planning is both anatomically
and prosthetically driven.
The
result
Teeth in an Hour™ allows the
possibility to provide patients fixed, well-functioning, and
esthetic prostheses on implants in less than an hour. Thanks
to the flapless technique, this treatment will be a totally
fantastic experience for your patients with
- greatly reduced healing time
- no temporaries
- no significant pain nor swelling
Schedule
of Treatment - How it Works
The initial clinical
evaluation -- Understanding the problem, making the
diagnosis based on clinical exam and x-rays and discussion
of treatment options, including Teeth In An Hour™
Treatment plan
-- A formal printed plan is reviewed in conjunction with standardized
consent forms.
Prototype teeth
-- The patient's dentures are evaluated. New dentures may
be required to determine the degree of facial support and
establish an esthetic smile.
Scanning denture
-- A duplicate scanning denture is constructed. This device
mimics the prototype denture.
CT scan - A
CT scan of the patient's jaw wearing the scanning denture
is completed using our low-radiation iCat machine. Following
the patient scan, a second scan is performed on the denture
alone.
Data conversion
-- Digital files from the iCat scans are reformatted using
the Nobel Biocare Procera System software. The software converts
the CT data into a three-dimensional image of the jaw and
denture.
Virtual surgery
--The surgeon/prosthodontist performs virtual surgery on the
3D image. The file from this virtual surgery is then transmitted
through the internet for fabrication of the surgical guide.
Robotics --
At a robotics facility, the data files containing the surgical
plan are used to three-dimensionally reconstruct the patient's
jaws. A special surgical guide is then constructed to assist
the surgeon with implant installation. The guide and all necessary
surgical components are carefully packaged and express shipped
to Prosthodontics Intermedica.
Fabrication of teeth
-- Using the surgical guide and the models of the
jaws, the final set of teeth are fabricated in the laboratory.
Final inspection
-- Upon completion of the laboratory work, the surgeon/prosthodontist
examines the shape and size of the teeth and checks the components
for accuracy before scheduling the patient for actual surgery.
The one surgical visit
-- The implants and teeth are surgically installed with the
aid of the computer generated materials, usually with only
local anesthesia. The surgical procedure requires no incision,
no sutures and little post-operative swelling or discomfort.
The Teeth in an Hour surgery and your new esthetically pleasing
smile usually takes less than sixty minutes to complete.

Teeth
in an Hour Q & A
AM I A CANDIDATE?
Teeth In An Hour is currently
being used for patients who wish to replace their dentures
with permanent teeth. The fast-moving pace of modern dental
technology allows for a single tooth, a partial denture or
a complete denture to be replaced. This will enable more patients
to experience the joy of new self-esteem, the natural result
of an attractive smile. The final determination will be made
by the surgeon / Prosthodontist when the patient has been
fully evaluated.
IS THE PROCEDURE EXPENSIVE?
Dental implant treatment by
its very nature is a big investment. To be accomplished, it
requires skilled experienced professionals who work with each
individual's highly customized treatment plan. The equipment
is technologically sophisticated, the materials are intricate
and valuable, and all of this is subject to meticulous sterile
detail.
Still, Teeth In An Hour™ can
be less costly than more traditional dental implant treatment.
This is because it significantly reduces the time commitment
for both the patient and the doctor. Most patients who prioritize
their smile and opt for dental implant treatment regard the
cost as a worthwhile lifetime investment. Unlike the rest
of the human body, the virtual "youth" of the mouth
can be preserved right up through the age of one hundred.
The concept of eating well for all of one's lifetime while
sporting a timeless smile spurs many to "bite" from
the Fountain of Youth.

.
DOES IT HURT?
Dental implants and the creation
of a prosthetic smile can be accomplished with minimal or
no discomfort using local anesthesia; however, for patients
who suffer from apprehension or anxiety, our board certified
anesthesiologists provide gentle assistance, allowing our
patients to wake up with a beautiful new smile.
As with all extensive dental
treatment, some patients will experience tenderness in the
mouth, mild swelling or the appearance of slight facial bruising
for several days following the procedure. The use of ice packs
and normal dosages of standard pain medication generally allows
patients to be quite comfortable through this brief healing
period.
TEETH
IN AN HOUR - NOBELGUIDE
Teeth In An Hour is a new protocol
that allows patients to leave the office with fixed teeth
in less an one hour.
